Mojo Monday #403

Good morning crafty friends and happy Thursday! I sure hope y'all are
having a great week so far! We are halfway through to the weekend!
I think on Saturday we are going to go visit some family a few hours away.
We really need to anyways. My grandpa is doing chemo again for
Multiple Myeloma (plasma cell carcinoma) and has been up and down for
the last month or so. The doctor said that the chemo is working very
well but he is have having some trouble with anemia because of some of the
other medication the doctor has him on. The hardest part right now is
getting him to eat and drink on a regular basis. If he doesn't feel like doing
it, he won't. The not drinking much worries my mom because most
myeloma patients usually don't actually die from the cancer they die from kidney
failure or really bad pneumonia. Obviously you want to drink plenty to help
your kidneys filter out the junk. The doctor did say he was going to lower the
dose on one of the meds that's causing the anemia so hopefully that
will perk him back up!

Before I head out to work this morning I wanted to share a quick card I
made the other day. I followed sketch #403 from Mojo Monday.
I also used one of my new paper packs I got during the Joann's 60% off
scrapbook paper sale last week. They came in the mail on Monday.
I got 18 6x6 pads and 5 packages of enamel dots from $65. Hubby says I
need to get to crafting if I am going to use all of this paper before I die. lol

Enabler's List:

Paper: Doodlebug - Hip Hip Hooray
Stamps: Verve - Birthday Bots and Verve - Birthday Bash
Ink: CTMH - Slate and Pear and Ranger black archival
Misc: Verve - Metal Mix, CTMH - teal shimmer trim,
Nestabilities large and small circles, and Spectrum Noir pencils

Here is a pic of my Joann's order;

Cardabilities #125

Good morning crafty friends! Hope y'all are having a great week so far!
It is getting hot here in OK and the mosquitoes are super crazy
in the evenings! If you soak in spray, chances are, you'll stick get bit
by a few. That's what I discovered on Sunday night. It really was
a lovely evening temperature wise though. We had a nice cool breeze blowing
though out in the country at my parents house. I had off work yesterday
so I did some cleaning and then my order from Joann's came in so of course
I had to play with that for a while! I also put a card together I wanted
to share with y'all this morning. I followed the current Cardabilities sketch.
I am also entering this into the current Always Playing with Paper challenge.

Enabler's List:

Paper: Authentique - Anchored
Stamps: Verve - Strong Anchor
Ink: CTMH - outdoor denim and cranberry
Dies: Verve - Nautical Die set and Pennant Trim die
Misc: jute

Viva la Verve June week 3

Good morning crafty friends and happy Father's Day! Hope everyone will get
to see or talk to their dad's today! We are having a cook-out at my
parents place after church. That's how we pretty much celebrate any holiday
that falls during decent weather. We haven't gotten either dad anything
yet but we will probably treat them to a gift card to the gun range
or something like that. Both my dad and dad in law are quite the gun
enthusiasts and neither one can currently shoot on their own properties since
we have had so much rain, the pond beds that are usually empty and
used as personal ranges have been full and overflowing for the last few weeks.

Anyways before we head off to church I wanted to share one of the cards
I made yesterday. I following the June week 3 sketch from Viva la Verve for this
card and am also entering this card into the current Word Art Wednesday challenge.

Paper: Recollections Mosaic Memories
Stamps: All Verve: New Mercies, Poppy Birthday, and Petals and Wings

I want to share a card I made last night following the current

Viva la Verve June week 2

Good morning crafty friends! Hope y'all had a good weekend! Well it's
a Monday again! Lately I've been so spoiled with having Monday's off and
then having a half day Tuesday but one of our spine surgeons has
one of his more difficult cases today so I have to be there because I promised
him that I'd be there for all those cases. When I came back from my
cruise last month my lack of presence in his cases was all they were talking
and joking about. The anesthesiologist said in all seriousness, "Hillary
you really just have no idea what it's like when you're not here, Dr. Hume is
only good at hiding his frustration for so long, and by that I mean he
really isn't good at hiding it at all. We would really just like you to be here
all the time."  Have I mentioned I really like my job? It really feels
awesome to have your skills and abilities appreciated. I have even had two
surgeons fight over me once. It was pretty awesome. lol. Luckily I didn't have
to pick which surgeon to work with that day, boss man said the
surgeon with seniority automatically gets what they want first. lol

Before I head out to work, I wanted to share last nights make
following the June week 2 sketch from Viva la Verve.

Paper: SU Bohemian
Stamps: Verve Joyful Blooms and Verve Unto Us
Ink: SU Bermuda Bay and Blackberry Bliss

a bit of time in the studio to make a card! For this card I used

so he worked for me today. I am actually supposed to be going part time
sometime... I don't know when this will actually happen. I'm thinking
my boss doesn't actually want it to happen. lol. Anyways, I was

Mojo Monday #400 and Coffee Lovers

Good Sunday morning crafty friends! What a lovely weekend it has been so
far here in OK! It has been so nice to have not had any rain or
severe storms in the last week! We've been able to take a walk every
evening! My hubby mapped it and our long neighborhood walk
is 1.5 miles. We've been trying to do that with the dogs every evening.

Since it has also been a pretty uneventful weekend I have been able to sit
down and get some good crafting time in! Tonight I wanted to
share another card using the special #400 sketch from Mojo Monday.
I am also entering this card into the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Nail Hoot Candyland Collection

Good evening friends! Remember last month when I shared with you a few
polishes from Brandie's The Beginning collection from her new Indie polish line
Nail Hoot? Well, she has so kindly given me two polishes from her upcoming
Candyland collection to preview and swatch for y'all! (If you missed my
review and swatches from The Beginning collection, click Here to read it!)

The new Candyland collection will have a total of 5 polishes designed after characters
of the game. In this post I will be sharing about the first 2 in the collection.
Licorice Twist named after Lord Licorice and Ice Queen named after Queen Frostine.

Up first is Lord Licorice which is a beautiful chocolatey color with a hint of - lets call it -
cherry, that's what comes to mind, a touch of red. It is also full of  beautiful multi color
micro glitters. It's easy to pick out some reds, greens, and blues. You can see them pretty
well in my macro shots. Here I painted a base coat, 1st coat of color, a coat of gelous,
then 2nd coat of color, then a top coat. It covers perfect in two coats.
It has a lovely formula that covers well in two coats. It isn't too thin or too thick, just right!

Outdoor direct sunlight shots:

Outdoor shade shots:

Up next is Ice Queen named in honor of the lovely Queen Frostine. This one is a
beautiful icy bright blue that hints at purple at times. It's filled with micro glitters and
pinkish-purple glitter bits. You can see the shimmer from the micro glitters and
the larger glitter bits up close in the macro shots. I did Ice Queen with a white base but
I also swatched on sticks with and without the white base and they don't look terribly
different so if you aren't into white bases, it will still look just as lovely without one and
with only two coats! Here I did a base coat, one coat of white, 1st coat of color,
one coat of gelous, 2nd coat of color, then top coat.
Again this one also has an easy formula to work with, not too thick or thin.
